Orion Hospitality

Based at San Francisco, CA, Orion Corcilius is the Principal and founder of Orion Hospitality (OHC), a boutique hospitality consultancy, and is responsible for the company's worldwide business development, execution and operations. He directly oversees all aspects of the firm's real estate related consulting functions, capital advisory, capital referral, market intelligence, financial modeling and analytics.

Mr. Corcilius initiated the firm's operations in 2003, prior to incorporation, with a series of consulting assignments in the hospitality sector. This subsequently led to further engagements, commercial real estate development assistance requests and capital advisory, structuring, referral and modeling work, the driver to formally structure a company and satisfy demand. Since its inception, Mr. Corcilius has played a critical role in maintaining OHC's client list, establishing new client relationships, creating parameters for all real estate development advisory work, capital advisory, hospitality consulting, market intelligence, cash flow and capitalization modeling for all industry sectors.

Mr. Corcilius has been involved with the deal formation, capital structuring, financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, capital referral and cost tracking for over 100 resort, mixed-use, office, retail and residential acquisition or development projects ranging in size from $2M - $585M. In addition to capital markets achievements, he has also been involved with numerous $200M+ mixed-use resort development projects, hospitality and mixed-use market intelligence studies, competitive positioning studies and other due-diligence assignments. Prior to forming OHC, he was part of a team who in 1997 developed, opened and operated a cluster of three luxury resorts, at a cost of $570M, integrated into Universal Orlando's five year, $4B expansion. Additional to a central support facility and the three full service, themed destination resorts, the team also opened the South Miami Beach Hotel and assisted with opening a New Orleans Hotel and a House of Blues Hotel at Chicago. Independently, Orion was part of the opening team for a small boutique Inn located at Napa, CA and a large mixed-use resort at Paradise Valley, AZ., for a total, 4,000+ hotel rooms from ground up.

With over 20 years of experience in hotel, resort and mixed-use acquisitions, development, openings, operations, financings and capital advisory, Orion is actively involved with mentoring students, college programs, furthering education and industry events. He is a recipient of all three Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, an international leadership in action program that rewarded his "progressive nature, leadership skills and outdoor proficiency" and a graduate from the Cornell University Hotel School where he focused in Strategic Management Operations, Finance and Entrepreneurship.
