Orion Corcilius is the Founder and Managing Partner of Orion Hospitality Corp., a boutique expert services and advisory firm that specializes in commercial real estate capital markets solutions. Orion directly sources and oversees client relationships, creates the financial cash flow projections, capitalization strategies, valuation and waterfall models for their real estate projects and supports transactional execution. Beyond the firm’s core hospitality and mixed-use asset class focus, he works across multiple other sectors, including residential, multi-family, food and beverage, entertainment and leisure related businesses. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience and collaboration across different facets of the real estate industry, Orion has strengths and a proven track record in market intelligence, acquisitions, development, openings, operations, asset management, financial modelling, and capital markets. He has particular expertise in hospitality, residential, and mixed-used sectors, having worked globally on projects ranging in value from $1M to $4B.

Orion was prior a Managing Director at Ankura within the Ankura Real Estate Advisory (AREA) group’s Hospitality & Leisure Team (HLT). He previously managed hospitality acquisitions for a private investment group where he was responsible for identifying prospective investment targets, underwriting, performing due diligence, modelling, creating presentation materials, and presenting to investors. Earlier in his career, he was a senior financial analyst at a capital-markets advisory firm, a development manager for the hospitality division of a private developer, and an operations analyst to the regional managing director of an upscale hotel brand and management company.

Orion holds a Security Industry Essentials (SIE) certification from FINRA and is a recipient of all three Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, an international leadership in action program that rewarded his “progressive nature, leadership skills and outdoor proficiency.” He received a dual MBA with Distinction from Cornell University Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management and Queen’s University Smith Graduate School of Business. His undergraduate degree is from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration where he concentrated in Strategic Management, Operations and Entrepreneurship. • Structured, sourced and closed over $750M of debt financing in the past 3 years.
• Structured, sourced and closed a $183M, four layer, debt and municipal subsidies stack for an ESG centric luxury resort and spa development project west of Washington D.C. in the Shenandoah Valley.
• Led the modification and subsequent pre-bankruptcy restructuring of the senior debt for a small portfolio of hotels located in the Bakken, ND oil region.
• Created the financial models and advised on over 100 prospective global real estate transactions.
• First employee hired by the regional managing director as part of the opening and operating team for seven new ground-up developed, themed destination resort properties, over 4,000 hotel rooms, including those integrated into Universal Orlando.
